Nightmares come true.
I parked my truck on Charles street and hiked up Mt. Vernon straight into a situation. The edges were peeling off the recently installed cherry closet shelving system.
In an effort to further improve an already good product we had applied the edge banding with invisible glue. Unfortunately it was also non-functional and had no holding power.
Jackie and I decided to trash it all - throw it out and do it better the second time. The embarrassment would be almost as high as the expense to do this but integrity is more important than money so we packed it out to the truck my boys had double parked in Louisburg Square.
When all was said and done (over), the closet organization system was a thing of beauty. The finish shimmers and the solid cherry edges are firmly affixed, never to let go.
As luck would have it Frank the Architect was watching from the sidelines as events unwound. This transpired some years ago and since then he has sent us a ton of closet remodeling work.
I know why some people are lucky- they don't wait for it to happen- they make their own. In this case we had turned a nightmare into some lasting good luck. Frank calls with another new project whenever he gets a client with a closet improvement need.
